|
Law Day focuses on
our heritage of
liberty under law,
a national day of celebration officially designated by a joint resolution of congress.
The goals of Law Day are to promote a better understanding of our legal system in the eyes of the general public and to celebrate the principles it is based upon as well as the freedom that it helps to protect.
Law Day strives
- to build awareness of the facets and functions of our legal system,
- to call the attention of every American Citizen to both the principles and the practice of American law and justice,
- to reflect on our legal heritage,
- to reflect on the rule of law in our society,
- to reflect on the rights we enjoy under our constitution,
- to celebrate our freedoms, cherish our rights, and
- to be reminded of our responsibilites as citizens.
It is an opportunity for the legal system to reach out to the public and build positive awareness of the legal community.

Be part of a nationwide celebration
of Law Day which began in 1957
when American Bar Association President Charles S. Rhyne
envisioned a special day for
celebrating our legal system.
In 1958, President Dwight D.
Eisenhower established
Law day U.S.A. to strengthen
our great heritage of liberty
justice, and equality under law.

Law Day is an opportunity for all Americans to celebrate and enjoy our freedoms.
